Vivian Chu (B.A. English, Cambridge RSA CELTA), has taught all levels of English from Literacy to Advanced, in Canada, Japan, and China. Currently she teaches English to international students in Vancouver, Canada, and is also a teacher trainer at Vancouver Community College, where she teaches “Understanding Global Culture through Proverbs, Metaphors, and Storytelling,” a TESOL Diploma elective course based on her books. She has presented her workshops and books at numerous teachers' conferences locally in Vancouver as well as internationally in the U.K., Hungary, and Colombia.

Having grown up in four countries and traveled extensively, Vivian draws from her global experiences to design learning materials that foster intercultural understanding, stimulate critical reflection on values and ethics, as well as support language skills development. Her areas of interest include global education, materials writing, teacher development, intercultural communication, and peace education.

Vivian is on the BC TEAL Board as Member-at-Large, and also serves on the Special Interest Groups Committee, leading the "Global Issues in Language Education" SIG. In her leisure time, she enjoys scuba diving, djembe drumming, creative writing, and international travel.
